AGEphone Desktop 2

The new AGEphone Desktop 2 is SIP based internet telephony softphone that enables users to choose from a host of standard compliant Voice over IP (VoIP) providers. It is based on our home grown microSIP stack that is one of the smallest implementations throughout the industry and offers high performance on desktop and embedded systems alike.

The softphone is designed to support the latest standards and makes it possible to use multiple VoIP services for outgoing telephony and dial in numbers all around the world! Users don't need to worry about their network environment and can even have their PC wake up on an incoming call if their PC supports Intel's new Remote Wake Technology.    

AGEphone Desktop 2 works very well with Outlook (Express) and contacts from the address book can be imported easily. A detailed overview list makes managing incoming and outgoing calls a breeze and recreates the seamless experience that so far only mobile phones have offered. Just add any number call to your address book or call it directly for your convenience!

When using the keyboard or GUI to dial a number, AGEphone Desktop 2 tries to auto complete it with a list of numbers and contact names matching the digits entered so far. You can also place any number on the quick dial fields and associate your VoIP providers on a per button basis. This is also a great way to quickly switch amongst your ever growing list of internet telephony services.

The new version offers a brand new design that gives the feeling of a modern, elegant and practical IP phone through and through. Every aspect of the softphone is right at your fingertips, be it the quick dial fields, telephone functions, settings or address book. If you have ever used a phone you will feel right at home!

A lot of thought has also been put into what's under the hood and AGEphone Desktop 2 comes with Speex codec support for high quality, low bitrate narrow and wideband telephony. ageet is committed to bringing the telephony experience to the 21st century and supporting HD voice is mission critical in our book! As the list of codecs has grown and will get even larger in the future we also added a codec management system, enabling you to set codecs on a global and per provider basis.

Our users have asked for a way to automatically pair their numbers to specific telephony services in the past and we have listened of course: AGEphone Desktop 2 integrates a new call rules wizard that makes simple dial plan management a breeze so that all the numbers you dial are matched to the right VoIP provider without the need to select it manually. This makes single click dialing from the address book even more comfortable as you never need to worry about accidentally using the most expensive service. 

And if you're not there to take a call personally the answering machine will get it for you. Or suppose you don't want to be there - AGEphone Desktop 2 can play an announcement will to the caller, informing him that you are busy; or you can greet him with the busy tone. Don't have your hands free? No problem either! Just auto accept all incoming calls. Of course, you will also find support for call forwarding if you're away from your computer for extended periods. And so you keep on top of all of this the status display always keeps you up to date with voice mail messages and your current status.

Highlights

	Use Multiple Service Providers at Once With AGEphone Desktop, it is possible to use multiple VoIP services at once to make much cheaper calls compared to just using a single provider. It is also possible to have dial in numbers all around the world be reachable under all of them at the same time no matter where you are. And when you initiate the call, you simply choose the cheapest provider manually or with the new call rules wizard.
	Provider Quick-Switch/Speed Dial The enhanced user interface makes switching between your providers a snap.  Simply assign a provider to a quick dial button without a specific phone number and all you have to do is click it in order to dial any number with that service. Of course you can also just assign a single speed dial number just as well and use the button just like a quick dial button on your regular phone.
	Address Book Support Since the current versions of the Outlook and Vista address book are supported you can easily import your contacts into the AGEphone Desktop 2 with a simple step. After importing, data in the address book can be edited separately to have all your contacts available for single click dialing.
	Skin Support Our softphone comes with multiple skins that you can use to change its appearance to your liking. If the old skin was more for you, it's still there! And if you prefer a more compact phone that occupies less screen estate and still makes all the essential functions available, the mini skin might be what you are looking for.
	Incoming Call Notifications Even if AGEphone Desktop 2 is running in the background there is no need to worry about missing a call: You can have the program window or a small notification window pop up to announce that someone wants to talk with you. Based on whether or not the number is in your address book you'll also see the name of your caller so that you're always sure about whom to accept or hang up on.
	Free CallPicker for all AGEphone Desktop 2 Users! Our CallPicker is a helper tool for AGEphone that quickly dials phone numbers from anywhere on your desktop. It works all the same whether you are using Internet Explorer, Firefox, Adobe Acrobat (no picture support), Microsoft Office, Open Office or whatever Windows application you may be using.
