The Octothorpe is a light-weight, highly flexible software IP-PBX system that has been programmed with ease of use and great versatility in mind. Instead of offering yet another Asterisk-like solution, we have been focusing to provide our software with a strong foundation of basic features that can be used on multiple platforms without compromising either stability or performance.

Our solution is so versatile that it runs not only on one or two, but on a host of other platforms as well! You can use either of Windows, Linux, or Mac OS X and even better, the Octothorpe also can be used on mobile and embedded platforms! This enables you to deploy it on everything from mobile devices over broadband routers to peripherals like displays and printers.

Even better, the Octothorpe is free to use if the standard version is all you need. While this makes it a particularly interesting offer for individuals and small businesses, larger companies may need more features and dedicated support. As one that doesn't fit all heads we have built the Octothorpe with customization in mind and can offer OEM versions with professional support.

	Easy Setup and Usage There are probably very few competitors in the IP-PBX field who can claim that their product is particularly easy to setup and use. The Octothorpe is just that: Easy to setup, easy to use. You are ready to go within 5 minutes with the basic configuration which again can easily be changed by editing a few simple text files. The program itself runs in the background quietly and unobtrusively.
	Strong Foundation The Octothorpe doesn't compete with other solutions when it comes to the sheer number of features. Instead of trying to cover every possible usage scenario and leave it to the user to find his way through, our goal is a system that provides basic features such as trunking, voicemail, call forwarding or conferencing that can easily be expanded as necessary for the task at hand.
	High Performance We have always put priority into keeping our programs small and efficient and the Octothorpe is no exception. You get a whole IP-PBX in less than 1 MB that does not only run on x86 but also ARM CPUs. 	Free Version As the "Lite" implies, this version is freeware and doesn't cost you a penny. Usage Scenarios

	SoHo If you need an easy to setup and not overly complex solution for your home or a small office, the Octothorpe may be just what you have been looking for! It offers all the basic features that you are likely going to need and can run on any ordinary computer. You don't need to be an expert to get the IP-PBX started and once everything is setup you can just leave it running in the background or as a system service. The Octothorpe is so unobtrusive that you will hardly notice it!
	Mobile Imagine what it would be like if you could take your PBX with you wherever you go. If for example you have it right on your smartphone that would come with numerous advantages: You don't have to fight with latency problems when abroad if your office is far away. You can manage small teams that need a local PBX temporarily. You can bring PBX functions to places where no phone and data coverage is available. In short: If you want to go mobile there is no better choice than the Octothorpe!
	Router Computers aren't the most efficient way to host telephony applications and it is quite wasteful to leave them always on. Routers on the other hand are running nearly all the time anyway, use little power and - depending on the model - offer enough resources to host more than just a few VoIP-calls. Your customers can simply plug in their VoIP phone or use a software client on a PC or mobile device as extensions for the Router PBX without worrying about anything else.
