ageet releases Softphone with Twitter Functionality

ageet Corporation, one of the pioneer Japanese softphone companies that in the past received international recognition for its AGEphone Mobile and - Gadget product series, has released AGEphone Desktop 2 with Twitter functionality today.
The telephone is our main means of communication today and if we take a look at how things stand, not too much has changed since the old days. People still call each other completely unaware of what they are doing at the time and many say that the telephone therefore is the most intrusive means of communication available. However, there’s no need to be in the dark before placing a call anymore: Our Twitter integration makes it possible to conveniently publish your status information and to easily confirm the detailed presence of other AGEphone Desktop users as well as missed calls over the web.
The implementation allows for preconfigured status messages at certain telephone events (e.g. starting and hanging up a call) and also to conveniently post regular Tweets directly from the dial field. In order to use this functionality, all that’s required is entering your Twitter account data in the configuration and AGEphone Desktop 2 takes care of the rest. We hope that knowing their partner’s detailed presence information enables our users to be one step ahead in their daily communications and that our Twitter support makes internet telephony more useful than ever before!
AGEphone Desktop 2 can be obtained from our download page starting today. As always, a feature complete test version that runs for and unlimited time and one minute per call is ready as well. The full version is $35 USD with rebates being available for larger volumes and OEM versions.
